Description
Kanbeās Markets is on a mission to build a more inclusive food system by transforming food loss into food access. Their work serves the most vulnerable in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area, while reducing unnecessary waste of nutritious foods discarded into landfills. Their mission is to deliver food justice one neighborhood at a time. In 2024 alone, Kanbe's Markets redirected 1,000,000 pounds of produce from ending up in landfills.
Join this presentation as Sydney Schier, Redirection Coordinator for Kanbe's Markets, speaks about their program model, its impact across Kansas City, and ways students can get involved!
This event is free and open to the public. It will be held in JCCC's Craig Auditorium, located in GEB 233. Registration is not required. Light desserts and drinks will be provided.
