Description

The Johnson County Community College's Center for Student Involvement, Multicultural Programming Advisory Committee, and Career Development proudly present Building Bridges: A Transfer Summit for Students of Color. This is a  student-designed summit to empower and connect community college students of color to university resources that develop access and belonging and yield success.

 

March 27, 2023, 3:30 pm- 7 pm at Johnson County Community College, Regnier Center 101

Time:

Check- In:                        2:30 pm

Transfer Summit:         2:30 pm- 3:30 pm

Breakout Sessions:       4:00 pm- 6:00 pm

Involvement Fair:         6:00 pm- 7:00 pm

This event will provide community college students of color with an opportunity to access resources and connect to our region's universities, which will equip them with the tools for success. 

 

Who should attend: 

This transfer fair will benefit current community college students of color who wish to move on and further their education. 

Why they should attend: 

Learn how to address obstacles, such as building community and belonging in new spaces. Get a better understanding of funding options and articulation agreements for regional institutions. Connect with various departments and organizations that serve students of color at regional universities. 

Creating a space where students of color can have equitable access to resources in this transition is critical to their success.
